History

Charlie Pendleton had grown up with farming, and had various interests including working on the mounted beach patrol in Rhyl. In the early 1940’s Charlie married Peggy, Victor was born a year later, they then moved Bryngwyn Back – a tenant farm, which Charlie bought a couple of years later. When Vic left school he joined the family farm and also worked with the farm contracting company, as well as testing various new agricultural machines such as the ‘Jones Baler range’.
Charlie sadly passed away in the summer of 1978, Vic continued to run the farm until in 1999 the decision was made to sell the business and home which had provided for the family for almost 60 years and to venture into something new; Croft Country Park was purchased in March 1999, Peggy, Vic, Ann & Huw moved from North to South West Wales.
2013 saw the development of the central facilities on Croft Country Park, a name was needed for the new Restaurant, it seemed to be a fitting tribute to name it after Charlie. We hope Charlie would be proud of the restaurant, and of the park, his determination was an inspiration to us all as a family.
We hope that you enjoy your visit to Charlie’s restaurant and bar and that our team do all they can to make your visit a special one.
